Family and friends will be received at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday from 3-8 PM. A Vigil Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 PM to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Kent Durig as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Anita “Ann” Menendez Broslawsky, age 92, of Stonewood, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018. She was born May 16, 1926 on Lambert’s Run in Harrison County. Ann was the daughter of the late Robustiano Eladio “Tiano” Menendez and Maria Suarez Menendez. Her husband, Alexander K. Broslawsky, whom she married September 24, 1950, preceded her in death November 1, 1977.

 

 

Surviving are her five children, Anita Byrd and husband Robert of Bridgeport, James Broslawsky and wife Tanya of Bridgeport, Joseph Broslawsky and wife Donna of Buckhannon, Thomas Broslawsky and wife Beverly of Cary, NC, and Alexis Behrens and husband William of Bridgeport. Eleven grandchildren, Meredith Byrd and wife Amber Jones, Erica Byrd, Nathan Broslawsky and wife Sudha, Alex Broslawsky and wife Alexa, Tara Barger and husband Matthew, Maria Potter and husband Brian, Alexis Ann Sutton and husband Franklin, Inez and William Behrens, and Heather and Holly Edwards. Four great grandchildren, Mason Barger, Riley Potter, Ryker Joe Sutton, and Yashas Mushrif.  Also surviving are one sister, Gloria Hawkins of Bridgeport, sister in law, Melba Menendez of Fairmont, as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

 

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marino and Joe Menendez, sister Mary Rife and husband Jack, and her brother in law David H. Hawkins.

 

 

Ann was a dedicated mother, and enjoyed all her time with her children especially during the holidays. Although she was a loving grandmother for her own family, she was also fondly remembered as “Grandma Annie” to many children she babysat over the years. She was also a dedicated member to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
