I was Jim's roommate in our senior year at WVU. He was a great guy and I knew that he would be a great doctor. His mother would always send back delicious Italian dinners to us in Morgantown. You have my deepest sympathy.

Stephanie, Matt, Jason, and Michael: I am so sorry. I am devistated for many reasons: I did not find our about Jim's death until May 6. I went for my annual eye exam and saw his memorial photo in the lobby. It was so surreal...I felt like I had been gut shot.. I was drowning with memories. Oh, the times playing, fishing the river, camping, and watching a childhood friendship grow into two old men. He was my oldest and dearest friend from those bygone days of innocence. So few of us left now. A large piece of me is searching for a place for us to fish together once again. As Geoffrey Chaucer said, "Time and tide wait for no man." Stephanie, my heart and prayers are with you now, and especially in the days and months to come. Leaving you with this: Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death forever. Then the Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces." ... I will miss you Jim!

Such a remarkable man! He cared for us and many of our family members and we always looked forward to our annual visits. We would catch up on the latest in world events and he always asked us about our family farm. My mom loved bringing him home made sweet treats. Our hearts are forever grateful for his life among us - a ripple effect for generations to come! Love and prayers to all who loved him.

Stephanie, Matt, Mike, Jason and families, We are so sorry for your loss of Jim. He gave great care to our whole family, including Krista and Scott. It was always a joy going to our eye appointment, we always talked about nurses and teased about how difficult we can be. I met him at WVU when we were on a psych rotation together. He asked me if I knew Stephanie. He will be missed, but he is enjoying his great reward. Love to all of you. The Arnold family

Dr. Genin was the best Doctor I have ever met. He was so kind and caring. Prayers for his beautiful wife, family and friends. The world would be a better place if there were more people like him in it.

I am so deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Genin’s passing. He was such an amazing doctor as well as beloved Cavalier dad. My eye appointments always ended with our chats about the love for our cavalier spaniels, past and present. I’m sure those beautiful cavaliers are greeting him at the Rainbow Bridge. So grateful to have known him.

While we never met Dr. James Alan Genin, we have worked alongside his son, Dr. Jason A. Genin for over 10 years. Knowing how fondly and lovingly Jason speaks of his father (and family) almost every day at work, it is clear that we have lost a great patriarch. Rest in Peace Dr. James Alan Genin and know that your love for fishing, medicine and helping others will live on through your son. Lonnie Soloff and the Cleveland Guardians Sports Medicine Team

So surprised and sorry to read of Jim\'s passing. I remember him in school (I was W.I. Class of \'65, tagging along behind.) and remember his beautiful wife Stephanie, whom I met at W.V.U.. I attended their wedding, and kept track of them through the years. He was a terrific doctor who cared for my mother in her later years in Clarksburg. The photo says it all -- that smile, that down-to-earth gentleman! He will be greatly missed. -- Mary K. (McDaniel) and Gene Bellisario, Slidell, Louisiana.

Dr Genin took care of myself and my daughters. I remember when my 4th grader wanted contacts and he was against until she proved she could do it. I remember his smile when she got them in and out. What a wonderful person. Sending prayers.

Dear Stephanie, Jason, Matt, Mike and families, I am deeply sorry for your loss of Jim! It was always so nice to have such a nice friend for my ophthalmologist, where I could not only get great care for my eyes but catch up with your wonderful family. We also usually enjoyed speaking just a little French, as I would years ago with Jim’s dad. He was a very fine man who will be greatly missed. I do hope that all of your wonderful memories, time, and the love of family and friends will bring you comfort. Love and prayers for you all. ?? Marilyn Lee

So very sad to hear this news today. My heart goes out to the whole Genin family...he loved his family so very much! I worked for him for 8 years and I would always call him James A. and it sort of stuck and then all the other girls started calling him that too. Good memories. Sending love to Stephanie and his sons.

My deepest condolences to the family of Dr Genin. He was my doctor until I left the area several years ago, and he cared for my parents until he retired. Just a genuinely kind and compassionate man. May you find comfort in memories and strength from God during this very difficult time.

Dear Stephanie and Family, My heart breaks with you and your family on the loss of Jim. He was not only my doctor for so many years, but my friend. You and he were my Belgian family! We shared so much more than gallets. I also learned so much about your Greek heritage, Stephanie, from visiting your church and festival. My family and I are privileged to be your friends. My prayers are with you all. Love, Evelyn Anne Brown Harper
