One of the nicest guy I ever met. Friendship went back to my high school playing days when Sheriff would referee our basketball games. After the games, all the reefs would meet at my grandfather’s restaurant, The Palace and replay the games. Ran into Sheriff some 60 years plus at the Clarksburg VA when I was working a temp job there. I said hey sheriff “do you remember me, he said sure your Spiro Gotses grandson John. That was back in 2017, and every time he had a doctors appointment we would have a little mini chat. Great human being, may his soul rest in eternal peace with God.

I met sheriff when i was in high school playing for St. Peter’s high school in Fairmont, WV. After the games, sheriff and the other refs would met at my grandfather’s restaurant, The Palace and repay the games. He was a great human being and he never forgot the people that he met. I had not seen for Sheriff for 50 years but ran into him at the Clarksburg VA while I was temporarily working there, he remembered me right away when I asked, do you remember me? No hesitation, he recalled my name and said your Spiro Gotses grandson. What a great guy.

I hope that our outpouring of grief that may help the Tiano family today. We all feel the sadness that this bright light from North View has gone out. He played such a role in lots of fun times. Such a big smile and a big hug. RIP Sheriff.
