Cheryl Darlene Hammond

Cheryl Darlene Hammond, 77, of Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

She was born in Philippi on March 27, 1948, a daughter of the late Garland Ashcraft and Veda Godwin Ching.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Lawrence Hammond, whom she married on November 2, 1970; one son, Mike S. Hammond of Centerville, VA; one daughter, Megan Robalino and her husband Daryl of Nutter Fort; two grandchildren, Amara and Isabella Robalino; three brothers, James Ashcraft, Kenith Ching, Jr. and Ronald Ching; and three sisters, Penny Spencer, Trudy Ching and Tammy Jones.

Mrs. Hammond was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School and attended nursing school in New Jersey. She was a retired nurse with over 20 years of service at United Hospital Center. Cheryl enjoyed crossword puzzles, loved listening to country music and attending country shows and enjoyed gardening and WVU football.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, where funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm to conclude the visitation with Pastor Tim Kelly officiating.

In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Hammond will be cremated following the service.
