Burial Date: August 16, 2016 Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday from 12:00 to 8:00 pm where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm to conclude the visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Reverend Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant.
Interment will be in the Salem I.O.O.F. Cemetery. |

John Franklin “Jack” Elliott, 83, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the home of his daughter in Salem. He was born in Mannington on March 10, 1933, a son of the late Samuel Nelson “Doc” and Florence Ryan Elliott.
He was married to Sara Romano Elliott, who preceded him in death in 2002. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shari Lu Elliott.
Surviving are two sons, Tim Elliott and his wife Kitty of West Liberty, WV, and Frank O’Neil and his wife Beth of Baltimore, MD; two daughters, Sandra Kimball and her husband Rikki of Salem, and Gina Alvarez and her companion, Jeanne of New York; nine grandchildren 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Joe Elliott of Mannington, WV; four sisters, Florence Kilcoyne and her husband Bill of Mobley, WV, Sue Gonzales of Weirton, WV, and Sally Mills of Mannington, WV and Phoebe Dickenson of Chesapeake, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Elliott was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War, and was retired from the building supply industry. Jack enjoyed gardening, playing cards and pool with family, and was known for helping others.
