Harriett Louise “Bootsy” Williams, 92, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on October 11, 2023. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Harriett was born on October 16, 1930, a daughter of the late Chester Ray and Sarah Macel Carter of Old Davisson Run Road in Clarksburg, WV. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, C. Duane Williams. They were married on June 7, 1948, in Ashland, Kentucky. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Mark (Brenda) Williams, Clarksburg, WV and Diane (Dave) Matheny, also of Clarksburg. She had five granddaughters, Melanie (Matt) Shingleton, Lisa (Anthony) Johnson, In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia (Clinton) Collins and Lorraine “Betsy” (Bob)Heaton and brothers Bill (Shirley)and David (Jane) Carter. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Huxton Riffle. Harriett was a long-time member of Bible Baptist Temple, where she taught Sunday School for over six decades. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to yard and thrift sales and traveling with her family. She also loved gardening with her husband. Every year they would put out a big garden. They loved giving produce and plants to everyone. Her faith and her family meant the world to her and she touched the lives of everyone she met. In keeping with her wishes, Harriett will be cremated.
