Karen Sue Dodd Payne, 64, of Stonewood passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at her residence of a sudden illness. She was born in Clarksburg, WV on March 13, 1953 a daughter of the late Hugh Cleon Dodd and Anna Lucille Wagner Dodd. She is survived by her husband, John Payne, Jr. whom she married on July 6, 1973 and resides at their home in Stonewood. Also surviving are two sons, Gregory Scott Payne and wife Gabrielle of Mathias, WV and Jason Daniel Payne and wife Amanda of Fairmont, WV; six grandchildren, Madalynn, Mariah, Isabella, Samuel, Jayleigh and Brooklyn Payne and one brother, Allen Cleon Dodd and wife Donna of Alabama. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Lee Dodd. Karen was a 1971 graduate of South Harrison High School and was a retired cook with the Harrison County School Board. She attended the Congregational Missionary Church, and was a member of the Harrison County Senior Citizens Center, where she enjoyed making ceramics and traveling with all the other members (Seniors on The Go). She especially loved her grandchildren.
