Brenda Sue Insani Carpenter Bryan, 69, of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg on February 13, 1947, a daughter of the late Robert and Alice Rieser Insani.

 

Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles F. “Chuck” Carpenter, whom she married on April 30, 1966. She is survived by her second husband, John Patrick Bryan, Jr., whom she married June 25, 1993.

 

Also surviving are two daughters, Amy Todd of Clarksburg, and Wendi Dodd of Clarksburg; three step-children, Melissa Bryan of Clarksburg, Tamara Bryan of Morgantown, and Johnny Bryan, III of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Justis Todd, Kaleigh Bryan, Jurney Kronenwetter, Corin Todd and Waylon Dodd; one nephew, R. J. Insani; one niece, Kammi Insani Singleton; four great nieces, Olivia Insani, Peyton Insani, Emily Singleton, and Miranda Insani; one great nephew, Aaron Insani; two aunts, Peg Rieser and Lora Wilfong; two uncles Karl Insani and Bob Day; several cousins, two of whom held a special place in her heart, Richard Muciek and Patty Heiman; one sister-in-law, Frances “Frankie” Insani; and her lifelong best friend, Judi (Fox) Boyce, whom she thought of as a sister, and her husband Gary. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert J. Insani; one special cousin, Marty Rieser Gentry; and one sister-in-law, Peggy Carpenter Parker.

 

Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Victory High School and began her career at C & P Telephone Company in 1965 as an operator. She retired as a consultant with Verizon Telephone Company with 35 years of service.  She was a proud member of the Communications Workers of America Local 2011, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She a Baptist by faith.

 

Brenda’s family was the essence and substance of her life and she loved them unconditionally. She enjoyed being a parent and grandparent, and rarely missed attending their activities, from school plays, dance recitals and sporting events, to births and weddings.  Her greatest joy was being with her husband and children, sharing special occasions, vacations and family dinners.  She loved sharing her childhood home with her husband John, working along his side and sitting on the front porch enjoying life.

 

Deep gratitude is extended to Dr. Rhodes and Dr. Coonley, Nurse Loya Spadafore and UHC Infusion Center, 6th floor nurses and staff, for their compassionate care and concern.

 

In keeping with her wishes, Brenda will be cremated.

 

There will be a gathering of family and friends at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, concluded by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Brenda’s name to Jack Rollins, c/o Brooke & Ryan Rollins, P. O. Box 395, Bridgeport, 26330 to assist with medical expenses.
