Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2015 at 10:00 am with Reverend Brian Plum officiating.   Interment will be in the Coplin Cemetery.

Clyde C. “Sid” Chipps, 75, of, Laurel Valley, Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the United Hospital Center following an extended illness.

He was born in Wolf Summit on February 18, 1941, a son of the late Clyde Harley and Agnes Gertrude Hammond Chipps.

Twice married, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ellen Chipps in 2005.  He is survived by his second wife, Judith Elaine Hamrick Chipps, whom he married on October 10, 2010.

Also surviving are one son, Joe Lane Chipps and his wife Kim of Laurel Park; one daughter, Leigh Anne Hastings and her husband Daniel of Washington State; two step children, Kayla Feiereisen and her husband Chris of Shinnston, and Evan Helmick of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Craig Chipps and his fiancé Meranda, Chadd Chipps, Caden Chipps, Sydney Hastings and Leta Mae Hastings; four step grandchildren, Trey, Elijah, Preston and Dylan; two sisters, Eleanore Chipps of Akron, Ohio, and Judy Chipps of Clarksburg; and one step sister, Floral Rebrook.  He was also preceded in death by one brother, Harry Chipps; two sisters, Jeannie Alexander and Rita Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Chipps was a former glass worker with Harvey Industries, Eagle Convex and Hazel Atlas, and was a retired laborer with Coca Cola Bottling Company.  He enjoyed playing in the band “Sundown”, singing in church and he loved hunting with his son and grandsons and spending time with extended family.  He attended Calvary United Methodist Church.
