David Hugh O’Brien, 83, of Hedgesville, WV, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Louis A. Johnson, VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born in Baltimore, MD on September 15, 1942, a son of the late Joseph and Alice Eader O’Brien.
David is survived by his wife, Kristine Ann Thorson O’Brien, who resides at their home in Hedgesville.
Mr. O’Brien is also survived by his niece, Maggie Sammons of Barboursville, WV; and three nephews, Ryder O’Brien of Clearwater, FL, Morgan O’Brien of West Union, and Casey O’Brien of Clarksburg.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his two brothers, Michael and Dennis O’Brien.
David was a graduate of Suffolk High School in Virginia and attended Baltimore Community College. He was a United States Army Veteran, having survived during the Vietnam War, and was an antique dealer by trade.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601, in David’s memory.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. O’Brien will be cremated. A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
