Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Eddie L. Jewell presiding.   There will be a private graveside service at the Rose Hill Cemetery in West Milford.

Elma Jane Toothman, 90, of Good Hope Community, passed away on January 21, 2017, at Crestview Manor in Weston, following an extended illness.

 

She was born in Quiet Dell, WV, on January 1, 1927, a daughter of the late Deward and Hazel Xenia Rhodes Kelley.

 

She was married to John W. Toothman on April 25, 1945, and enjoyed 50 years of marriage before his death on June 28, 1995.

 

Mrs. Toothman is survived by four daughters, Sharon Toothman Jewell and husband Ed of Defiance, OH, Ora Jane Johnson of Clarksburg, Cynthia Toothman Marsh and husband Ronnie of Good Hope and Linda Toothman Reese and husband Brad of Buckhannon; nine grandchildren, John Michael Toothman, Matthew Toothman and wife Rachel, Eddie Jewell and wife Shonda, Alex Jewell and wife Melinda, Amanda Burnside Gaughan and husband Patrick, Robert Johnson, Brian Marsh, Michael Marsh and Kelley Reese McNeish and husband Jay; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Ellen McCall of Clarksburg.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John “Bill” Toothman Jr.; and two brothers, Jack and Harlen Kelley.

 

Mrs. Toothman was a homemaker, and attended New Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Good Hope Chapter #109 of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking and her grandchildren. She especially loved traveling to the beach with her daughters!
