Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St, Nutter Fort on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 10:00 am with Father Akila Rodrigo presiding. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Frank S. “Buddy” Lopez Jr, 96, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on March 13, 2025 at the United Hospital Center.

He was born in Clarksburg on July 30, 1928, a son of the late Frank S. and Rose Tiano Lopez.

Buddy is survived by two nephews, David Ferrari and wife Suzette of Bridgeport and Frank Ferrari and wife Nancy of Clarksburg; one niece, Mary Jean Gary Blake and husband Larry of Clarksburg; as well as several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by his parents and six sisters, Teresa Barile, Mary Gary, Josephine Ferrari, Lucille Fragale, Adeline Lopez, and Virginia Marra; as well as one nephew, Louis “Bubby” Ferrari; and two nieces, Barbara Rose Marra and Margaret Gary.

Buddy was a graduate of Victory High School, Class of 1945. He retired from the West Virgina Department of Highways as an inspector with over 30 years of service.

He was a lifetime member and past president of the WV Society of Highway Engineers and a member of St. James Catholic Church. Buddy enjoyed woodworking and was a skilled carpenter, having constructed and repaired many homes around the Clarksburg area.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. James Catholic Church, 2107 Pride Ave, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
