Also surviving her is her daughter and best friend, Stephanie Lewis and her husband Thomas of Nutter Fort; her son, Christopher and Kara Cox of Fairmont; four grandchildren, who she loved to the moon and back, Drake Lewis, Nathan Lewis, Evelynn Lewis, and Camden Cox; five sisters; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Knight.
Kim was a graduate of Liberty High School Class of 1985. She continued to grow her education until earning her master’s degree in Hospital Business and Administration. While completing her higher education she simultaneously continued to work as a Professor at Fairmont State University, teaching Medical Business and Terminology, and raising her family. She spent part of her medical career as an EKG Technologist at Fairmont Regional Hospital. She was knowledgeable in the medical field and strived to continuously learn.
While she was proud about her education she was even more honored to be a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was most happy when she was able to take care of everyone else. She loved to spend any free time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going on vacation with her family, especially to Myrtle Beach, where she loved to soak up the sun and make memories with those she loved most. She also liked to complete crossword puzzles and to read.
She will be remembered for her many amazing qualities such as how determined and tenacious she was. She always made sure that her family knew how much she loved them. She will be sadly missed by them.
Kim’s husband and children would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the special care and treatment she received while in Ruby Memorial Hospital from the staff on the 6th Floor NCCU, especially Ethan and Bethani for their compassion.
