Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Rodney England presiding. Honoring Mr. Massey’s wishes, he will be cremated following the service.

Larry Gene Massey, 78, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the United Hospital Center.

He was born in Madison, WV, on November 4, 1946, a son of the Late John H. and Laura Fry Massey.

Mr. Massey was preceded in death on September 24, 2022, by his first wife of over 55 years, Beverly Jean Williams Massey. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Paul Landy.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Rader who resides at their home in Gassaway; his daughter, Tammy Lynn Russell and fiancé Donald Martin of Shinnston, WV, three grandchildren, Joseph Snopps and wife Rachel of Nutter Fort, Jennie Russell and Joshua Russell both of Shinnston, WV; and three great grandchildren, Jager, Xavier, and Elias. Also surviving are two stepchildren, Kenneth James Browning and wife Trina and Karri Rousett and husband Rick; and step grandchild, Adrianna. He also leaves behind his brother, John Landy and wife Pam of Sutton, and his sister, Maryann Jenkins of Sutton; and his faithful companion, his dog, Tillie.

Larry was a graduate of East Bank High School in 1965 and went on to graduate from WVU with a degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. He was the owner of Massey Technical Services since 1980.

Mr. Massey was a member of the Midstate Church of God in Gassaway and was a devoted Christian. He had a passion for life itself and above all he enjoyed spending time with his family always taking pictures.
