Marjorie Blanche Stewart Zimmerman, 91, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at her home with daughters and faithful caregivers by her side.

 

Marjorie was born on January 18, 1928 in Lincoln, NE. She was the youngest daughter of four children on the late Asa J. and Jennie Dee Arnold Stewart.

 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roger T. Stewart and Donald A. Stewart, and her sister, Jeannette G. Stewart Kirchner.

 

In 1947 she met and was united in marriage to her partner in life, Edward G. Zimmerman. They shared life’s journey for 71 years and raised two daughters, Georgeann Glasscock and Jeanette M. D’Annunzio. Together they were part of the “Mobile Society”, residing in Lincoln and Omaha, NE, Raleigh, NC, Minneapolis, MN and finally Charleston and Clarksburg, WV.

 

Marjorie was an excellent gardener, seamstress and homemaker. She always had a dog underfoot and walked hundreds of miles with a leash in hand. She loved to read and studied God’s word with great enthusiasm. Marjorie’s favorite pastime, which brought her much joy, was to be with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Marjorie leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Georgeann Glasscock and her husband Thomas S. of South Charleston, and Jean D’Annunzio and her husband Vincent F. of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Andrew S. (Kim) and James E. Glasscock of South Charleston, Vincent M. (Ashley), Michael F. (Denah) Samuel E. (Alyssa), and Annamarie D’Annunzio all of Clarksburg; great grandchildren, Kolten Glasscock, Sofia, Rocco, Nicolina, Samuel, Vincent and Cecilia D’Annunzio.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests the memorial contributions be made to the WV Veterans Nursing Facility, 1 Freedoms Way, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
