Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home from 2:00 to 6:00 pm Saturday and 12:00 to 2:00 pm Sunday, where funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Cecil Welch officiating. In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Dean will be cremated following the service.

Martha Ann Edgell Dean, 68, of Clarksburg passed away on Thursday May 13, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Clarksburg on December 13, 1952, a daughter of the late Clyde and Mabel Floyd Edgell. She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Dean, whom she married on July 16, 1970. Also surviving are three children, Veronica Stutler and her husband James of Lost Creek, Laura Young and her husband James of Lexington Park, MD, and Annette Wright of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Amanda Dean, Tyler Stutler and his wife Courtney, Renee Smith and her husband Roger, Desiree Adams, Kadence Abell, Eric Young and his wife Jessica, and Ashley White and her husband Justin; three great grandchildren, Nova White, Vincent White and Theodore Young; one sister-in-law, Judy Edgell of Fleming, OH; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother, John Edgell. Mrs. Dean was a 1970 graduate of Victory High School and was a retired Judicial Clerk for the State of Maryland. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for over 20 years and loved the outdoors, gardening, camping and growing flowers. Martha was also a member of the Jane Lew Lions Club and the Clarksburg Church of God, where she loved participating in church events. Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home from 2:00 to 6:00 pm Saturday and 12:00 to 2:00 pm Sunday, where funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Cecil Welch officiating. In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Dean will be cremated following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 122 High Street, Morgantown, WV 26505.
