Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 am with Reverend Richard Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park.

Marvin E. Messer, 80, of West Milford, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017. He was born in Clinchmore, TN on March 28, 1936, a son of the late Jack and Edith Enix Messer.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Barnett Messer, whom he married August 31, 1963.
Also surviving are one son, Eugene Ray Messer of West Milford; one daughter, Teresa Ann Cooksey and her husband Danny of Dawsonville, GA; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry R. Messer of Webster Springs and Billy Ray Messer of Curtin, WV; and two sisters, Sandra Hammond of Jane Lew, and Patricia Stuphin of Jumbo, WV. He was also preceded in death by one sister; two brothers; and one daughter, Katherine Lynn Keister.
