There will be no public visitation.   A private family service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday, July 2, 2016.   Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth Veltri, 87, of Goff Avenue, Clarksburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in the United Hospital Center following an extended illness.  She was born in Hinton, WV on April 10, 1929, a daughter of the late Fredrick Wright and Nellie Ball Predmore.

 

She was married to Salvatore James Veltri on April 19, 1950, who preceded her in death on July 1, 1996.

 

Surviving are three sons, Salvatore Veltri and his wife Lori of Corona Del Mar, CA, John T. Veltri and his wife Tina of Bridgeport, and David Veltri of Denver, CO; two daughters, Rebecca Wells and her husband Randy of Greensboro, NC, and Rosemary Trupo and her husband Mike of Bridgeport; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one half brother, Opal H. Young of Hinton, WV; one sister, Peggy Jeand’Heur and her husband Lou of Carlsbad, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was also preceded in death by one infant son, David A. Veltri; one grandson, Dominick Veltri; one brother, Roy Predmore; and several brothers and sisters in law.

 

Mrs. Veltri was a retired deputy assessor with the Harrison County Assessor’s Office, and was a member of the St. James Catholic Church where she was a former member of the Altar Rosary Society.

 

There will be no public visitation. A private family service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday, July 2, 2016. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. James Building Fund, 2107 Pride Avenue, Clarksburg, WV  26301.
