I'm so sorry for your loss. I know what you must be going through as I am going through the same thing myself. I grew up with Steve. As a child he was always at my Uncle Clyde and Aunt Helen or my Aunt Nelle and we would always enjoy his company. We always thought we were cousins but my Aunt Helen by marriage was his moms sister so Steve and I were not related. However I always considered him one of my favorite cousins. I also worked at Anchor Hocking with him for years. One of my fondest memories of him is the night the lights went out in New York City. We were talking to each other on the phone when it happened, Years later I was living in Ohio but I had come back to WV for a visit. I happened to see him at the VA park. He hugged me and said "What were you doing the night the lights went out in New York City." I said "Talking to you on the phone." We both had a good laugh. Funny but just the other day I was thinking about that and I had always told my kids about my cousin Steve. We never really kept in contact, but I never forgot him. I was really saddened when I saw his obituary on line as I now live in KY. He was a really good man. I am so sorry and will be praying for you and the girls

I cried when I saw that Ste e passed away. I have fond memories of him. As kids he was always at my Uncle Clyde and Aunt Helen's house and Aunt Nelles house. We thought we were cousins for years. The night the lights went out in New York City was a memory we both had because we were talking to each other on the phone when it happened. Steve was a.cery special person and I will always think of him as one of my favorite cousins. I never met his wife or children but I am truly sorry for what you are going through as I am going through the same thing myself with the loss of my husband. I will definitely be praying for you

So sorry for your loss. Wanted to share some memories with you from his Salem post office days how we used to have so much fun. the first one that comes to mind is when he first started I think he went way down 23 and the postmaster was trying to go and stop him and get him turned around and then one time we told him go to the IGA and get us some donuts Steve I don’t know where that’s at He said , it was just down the road he passed it everyday ! One time Al Swiger told him a piece of mail went somewhere with a relative of so and so , Steve said I’m here to carry mail not know a family tree ! Haha but in Salem u had to know the tree lol , then he met someone on A one lane road down pike fork , they wouldn’t back right away and neither did Steve , idk how long they sat there ! And he wondered where there were bathrooms ? Lots of trees out there we told him lol , he always brought his lunch and we asked him if he stopped and had tablecloth spread on his hood and had a picnic! But here’s the one I’ll never forget , I told him I met John at a livestock sale , he didn’t seem to know what that was , I told him and he said , I’m not a redneck! , so then I said oh no you are a city dude , he always said bedroom shoes instead of bedroom slippers , good times , prayers for You all , Beth,Julie , and the whole gang
