Salvatore S. DeMicco, a longtime resident of Riverside, CA, born August 28, 1940, passed away June 22, 2021, at the age of 80. He was diagnosed with Covid in January from which he never recovered and was hospitalized for the last five months.

Sam was born in the small mining town of Hepzibah, WV to Tony and Rosa Perri DeMicco. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalind Maiocco DeMicco, 4 children, Gerald (Jay) DeMicco and his wife Susan, Donna Valenzuela and her husband Steve, Tracy Sigler and her husband David, and John (Tony) DeMicco and his wife Marlena; 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

Sam is also survived by 2 brothers, Anthony DeMicco and his wife Mary of Mount Clare, WV and Michael DeMicco and his wife Terri of Rivesville, WV, and a sister, Clara Fuscaldo of Clarksburg, WV.

He graduated in June 1958 from Victory High School and entered the Air Force after graduation. He was discharged from active duty September 6, 1962 from March Air Force Base, Riverside, CA.

Sam obtained an Associated Arts Degree from Riverside City College. He was hired into the Riverside Police Department in 1963, retiring as a Sergeant in 1993.

Sam enjoyed many hobbies including camping in his RV, square dancing for over 20 years, cruising, and bowling.

He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church for 52 years, bowled on the church league for many years, worked church festivals, and for 10 years devoted his time to delivering Meals on Wheels as a church volunteer committee member.

His celebration of life will be held at 9:00am on August 6, 2021 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 3774 Jackson St., Riverside, CA. Burial will follow at the Riverside National Cemetery.
