Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00 am with Reverend Dr. Ken Ramsey officiating. Entombment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Our beloved Scott, 35, passed away on March 3, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on April 18, 1987 in Clarksburg, WV. Scott graduated from Robert C. Byrd High School in 2005, where he was on the football and wrestling teams. He graduated from Glenville State University and was employed by Genesis Youth Crisis Center in Clarksburg.
Scott loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with family, friends and his loving dog Magellan. He always had a smile on his face and touched the lives of so many people. We all love you and you will be greatly missed by so many.
Scott is survived by his father, Mark J. Mayer and stepmother Debbie A. Mayer of Lost Creek and his mother, Debra E. Lorenz nee Brooks and stepfather Richard Lorenz of Florida.
Also surviving are his brothers, Jeff Mayer and wife Bobbie, Patrick Mayer, Ryan and Tyler Lorenz of Florida, Shawn M. Brown and wife Camilleia Brown, and Michael Davis; nephew, Owen Mayer; nieces, Brooklyn and Mollie Mayer and Gabrielle Brown; great niece, Nollee Grace Bumgardner; step grandmother, Carolyn V. Sirk; step grandfather’s wife, Judith Pratt Sirk; aunts, Stephanie Garrett and Mary Mayer; uncles, John Mayer and Bill Mayer; cousins, Stacie Nutter, Sheli Albaugh, Mookie Mayer, JJ Mayer, Mary Kendra Mayer, Jennifer Cogar, Jami O’Dell, Billy Mayer, Matt Mayer, Hunter Mayer and their families; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins in WV, OH, ID and NC.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank (Soupy) and Dorothy Mayer, William and Sally Brooks, Step-grandfather R. Eugene Sirk; uncles, Kenneth (Punky) Garrett and Nicholas Brooks; and aunt Barbie Mayer.
