Viola Virginia (Riley) Earnest, 77, of Clarksburg passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Clarksburg on October 4, 1947, a daughter of the late Orval Denver and Donzella Mollohan Riley.

She was married to Charles Lee Earnest on May 11, 1969, who preceded her in death on February 5, 2024.

Surviving are one son, David L. Earnest and his wife Amie of St. Albans; three grandchildren. Alexis , Joshua and Willow Earnest; two sisters, Loretta Lynch of Clarksburg and Donna Terango and her husband Jim of Stonewood; one brother, Denver Lee Riley of Wilsonburg; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Andrew Earnest; one brother, Ben Riley; and one sister. Frances Reed.

Mrs. Earnest was a retired Nurses Aid at United Hospital Center and enjoyed camping at Twin Lakes Campground. She deeply loved her grandchildren and her family.

In keeping with her wishes, Viola will be cremated. A graveside service will be held in the Green Lawn Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
