Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at WV National Cemetery, 42 Veterans Memorial Ln, Grafton, WV, where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

William Burton Reeves, 85, of North East, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at his residence.

 

He was born in Shinnston, WV on December 7, 1933, a son of the late Bernard Reeves and Virginia Shipman Reeves-Smith.

 

He is survived by his wife Catherine Walsh Reeves whom he married on September 1, 1956.

 

Surviving are his three children; Barbara Burke of North East, MD, Laura Richards and husband Ken of Thomasville, NC, Michael Reeves and wife Yovanka of Elkton, MD; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; Karen Marks of Bridgeport, Linda Weaver of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

He was also preceded in death by his son Randy Reeves, grandson Chad Stein, sister Iris Davis and sister Charlotte Stonestreet.

 

Mr. Reeves was a United States Air Force Veteran having served for 22 years. He was a retired Electric Superintendent in the glass manufacturing industry. When still a resident of Clarksburg, WV he was a member of Christ Church United Methodist. He enjoyed golfing and was a fan of WV Girls’ Basketball. He cherished his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

 

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at WV National Cemetery, 42 Veterans Memorial Ln, Grafton, WV, where full military graveside rites will be accorded. Reverend Kevin Bender will officiate.
