John Edwin Layfield, 72, of Clarksburg passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg on March 29, 1952, a son of the late John “Junior” Layfield and Geraldine “Jean” Gerrard Layfield. Surviving are three brothers, Richard Layfield of Oklahoma, Dennis Layfield of Clarksburg and Garry Layfield and his wife Debra of Clarksburg; three nieces, Mary Jackson, Heather Bechler and Amanda Allen; and several nieces and nephews. John was a Victory High School graduate. He enjoyed listening to talk radio and keeping up with his friends on Facebook.
