Richard Duane Knight

Richard Duane Knight, 71, of North View, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at his residence of Kathy and Rusty Stewart in Salem, following an extended illness.

Richard was born in Clarksburg, WV, on January 8, 1954, son of the late M. Dee and Kathleen Reeder Knight.

He is survived by one sister, Barbara Kay Cooper of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Bill Swiger. He also leaves behind his niece, Kathy Stewart and her husband Rusty, who were his caregivers and with whom he made his home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angela Dee Knight; one sister, Phyllis Dee Swiger, and one brother, David A. Knight.

Richard was a graduate of Victory High School and went on to attend WV Wesleyan College graduating with an associates degree. He traveled with the WV Wesleyan Jazz Band and played drums with local bands. He was a member of North View United Methodist Church.

Honoring Richards wishes, he will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
