Nellie Daugherty, 97, of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. She as born in Akron, Ohio on July 12, 1928, a daughter of the late Paul and Naomi Cox Cupp. She was married to James R. Daugherty, who preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Earl R. Daugherty of West Union; one daughter, Tamela Fazio of Clarksburg; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one brother, Ray Cupp and his wife Georgianna of Clarksburg. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Jean Cupp, James Cupp and Paul Cupp. Mrs. Daugherty was a graduate of Doddridge County High School and was retired from the billing and credit department at United Hospital Center with over 40 years of service. She was a member of Queen Esther Chapter No. 11 Order of Eastern Star of Clarksburg and the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine, a volunteer at United Hospital Center and a member of the Duff Street United Methodist Church. Nellie Loved her church family. She loved to read and loved her black and white westerns. Nellie was “grandma” to everyone at the Village Market Place in Clarksburg, where she and her daughter Tamela have had a table for a couple of years. In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Daugherty was be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Duff Street United Methodist Church, 400 Duff Avenue, Clarksburg, WV 26301 with Reverend Tim Kelley presiding.
