Rosa Macel Marple Yates

Rosa Macel Yates, 99, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026.

She was born in Weston, WV, on September 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Charles Arthur Marple and Effie Marple.

She was married to Jewell Lawson “J.L.” Yates who passed away on July 4, 1980.

Macel is survived by her son, Troy Yates and his wife Tracie; granddaughter, Marla Kaye Denicola and her husband Tim; great-grandchildren, Quinn Harper and Owen Robert Denicola; step-granddaughter, Bethany Zahradnik and her husband Adam, Jodie Ice and Xayne Ice; step great-grandchildren, Nika Zahradnik and Forrest Zahradnik; and a special friend, Debra Tenney.

Macel retired from a local nursing home where she was a dietary aide. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Weston Chapter No. 40. She attended the Forward Church in Clarksburg.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her only sister, Mary Marple; brothers, Harley Marple, Hobart Marple, Charles Marple, Coy Marple, Clenley Marple and Dana Marple.
