Burial Date: March 19, 2026 Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday from 2:00 – 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Evans officiating. Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded. |

Robert Allen Heater, 77, of Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 in the United Hospital Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Clarksburg on October 16, 1948, a son of the late Chandos and Anna Mae Gardner Heater. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Luanne Murphy Heater on May 14, 2016. Surviving are two daughters, Tracy Thompson and her husband Mark of Fairmont and Tammy Clark and her husband Randy of Shinnston; four grandchildren, Robert J. Currey II, Haley (Jeffrey) Duda, Hannah Clark and Ethan Clark; two brothers, Ed (Priscilla) Heater of Ocala, FL and Bill (Diane) Heater of Nutter Fort; several nieces and nephews; his special friend, Lola Ferguson of Clarksburg; and his furry companions, Bella and Lily. He was also preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Richard “Hot Dog” and Nancy Heater. Mr. Heater was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy, having served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam and was also a retired maintenance supervisor with the US Postal Service. He was a Pittsburgh Pirate fan and an avid baseball memorabilia collector with an emphasis on Roberto Clemente and Rickey Henderson. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and attending their extracurricular activities.
