Olga Alastanos, 94, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born October 29, 1931, in Chios Greece, the daughter of the late John and Argenie Monogioudis Serafim.

Olga is survived by her two sons, Michael George Alastanos and wife Rebecca, and John George Alastanos and wife Sandi, all of Bridgeport. She leaves behind four grandchildren—Tiffany Alastanos-Martin and husband John, Jennifer Gemmellaro and husband John, Alexis Marie Alastanos, and Matthew George Alastanos, and fiancé Sarah Jenkins—as well as her great-grandchildren, Jackson Thomas Gemmellaro and Sophia Ann Martin, and several nieces and nephews.

Alongside her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, George; her brother, Gus; and her sister, Katina.

Olga grew up in Chios, Greece and came to the United States in 1957 with her late husband George. Since coming to the United States, she has been an active member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She really enjoyed working the pastry tables at the Greek food festival and socializing with the many friends she had made since moving here from Greece. Olga worked for many years as a seamstress at Broidas, the Crickett Shoppe and at her house on Grant Street. She utilized her seamstress skills to make and repair various items of women’s and men’s clothes and had developed many friendships with her customers over the years.

Olga also loved to cook and bake. She always looked forward to treating her family, friends and visitors with something she had whipped up. You could never visit Olga without getting something good to eat whether it was some meal she was preparing or some Greek pastry she had stashed away for company. Her Baklava was as good as it gets.

We would like to thank the staff at Bridgeport Health Care, especially Ella, Brandi, Megan and Taylor who really bonded with Olga. We also want to thank the caregivers who became close to Olga over the past few years. Heather Murphy, Vicki Perris, Chrystal Tichnell, Tammy Swiger, and Amy Seckman, which formed the A team, whose efforts were greatly appreciated by Olga and her family.

She will be remembered as a wife, mother, Yiayia, and friend.
