Family and friends may call at the Bible Baptist Temple, 9436 Cost Avenue, Stonewood, WV, on Monday from 3:00 – 7: 00 p.m. Mr. Wilcox will lie in state from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Charles Madaus as officiant. Interment will follow in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie’s memory to the Charlie Wilcox memorial fund at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home.

Charles L. “Charlie” Wilcox, 65, of Stonewood, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the River Oaks Healthcare Center.

Charlie was born on January 24, 1961 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Gerald and Daisy Hawkins Wilcox.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Watson.

Charlie is survived by his two brothers, Lester Wilcox and his wife Cecilia of Clarksburg and Donny Hawkins and his wife Marianne of Stonewood; two sisters, Mary Wilcox of Stonewood and Musetta Murphy and her husband Steve of Stonewood; seven nieces and nephews, Jason and Cory Wilcox, Megan and Ashley Counts, Valek Swiger, Brooke Collins and Breanna Murphy; several aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as seventeen great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

Charlie was a graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School Class of 1981. He began his career in the restaurant industry as a cook at Jim Reid’s Restaurant, currently known as the FOP, and went on to work at The Elks and would eventually retire from Raymond’s. In his free time, he enjoyed playing horseshoes and watching television, especially Chicago Fire and the Chicago spinoffs. He liked to sing and loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Above all else he loved his family, but especially his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
