Zachary Justin "Zach" "Red Beard" Harper

Zachary Justin “Zach” “Red Beard” Harper, 41, of Fairmont passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at his residence.

He was born in Clarksburg on February 20, 1985, a son of the late Ronnie Harper and Sandra Cogar McAtee.

He is survived by his sister, Caitlin McDonald and her husband William of Anmoore; a bonus sister, Pauletta Cogar of Bridgeport; one nephew, Logan Summers; and two nieces, Isabella Arnett and Ireland McDonald
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Randall McAtee; his sister, Veronica Harper; and his maternal grandfather, Denver Cogar.

Zach was a warehouse manager for Fleet Pride for seven years. He loved his motorcycles and his dog, Deuce. Zach enjoyed going to the beach at Ocean City, Maryland and loved to cook, especially his homemade pasta sauce and pepperoni rolls. He was an avid fan of the Mountaineers, Boston Red Sox and the Georgia Bulldogs. Zach was a proud uncle and loved his family with his whole heart.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Winfield Fire Department and Matt Smith.

In keeping with his wishes, Zach will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
