Barbara Irene "Barbie" Sheppard McKinney

Barbara Irene “Barbie” McKinney, 54, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on June 24, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Clarksburg on July 2, 1971, a daughter of the late George Sheppard and Doris Emerson Bailey.

Barbie married John Edwin Sirrine on March 7, 2021. He resides at their home in Clarksburg.

Also surviving Barbie are one daughter, Helen McKinney and fiancé Joseph Hensley of West Union; twin brothers, George F. Sheppard of Louisiana and Harold Sheppard and wife Lisa of Hepzibah; one sister, Sarah Harris of West Milford; two special nephews, Carson and Waylon Nay; her two dogs, Sophie and Maverick; as well as several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbie is preceded in death by one brother, Thomas “Tom” Berkely Sheppard; one nephew, Michael Dalton Sheppard; and one niece, Josette Rene’ Myers.

Barbie loved volunteering at the food bank, gardening, fishing, and dancing. She particularly loved caring for animals and had a gift to do so. She enjoyed life to the fullest and every day was a celebration for Barbie.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will take place for Mrs. McKinney.
