Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where a service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Owens as officiant. Interment will follow in the Broad Run Cemetery in Jane Lew, WV.

Reverend Dr. Kelvin Rene Hudkins, 77, of Bristol, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Kelvin was born in Weston, WV, on September 26, 1948, a son of the late Cletus and Mary Jo Beeghley Hudkins.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Spiker Hudkins in 2012 and his second wife, Laurel Klein in 2024.

In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Virginia Hudkins.

He is survived by his son, Aaron Hudkins of Bristol, WV as well as J.R. Reutelshofer and Kyle McCloy, who were like family to him.

Kelvin was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School Class of 1966. He continued his education by earning a Doctor of Ministry. He retired from American Baptist Churches conference and served various local methodist churches following his retirement. Kelvin attended and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nutter Fort.

While serving the Lord was his main priority, he had a passion for golf and could be found on the golf course most days, whether golfing or scavenging for abandoned golf balls. He was thirsty for knowledge and enjoyed reading to learn and would also read the Bible daily. He was a skilled Scrabble player. He was a fan of the Yankees and the Green Bay Packers.
