Dora Amelia “Susie” Armstrong Thompson, 78, of Clarksburg passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg on October 22, 1947, a daughter of the late Lionel Cameron and Edith Pearl Mick Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edward “Marty” Thompson, whom she married on April 20, 1968, and who preceded her in death on February 16, 2021. Surviving are three sons, David Thompson and his wife Peggy of Beverly, Michael Thompson of Fairmont and Jeremy Starkey of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Derek Thompson (Brandee) of Clarksburg, Chastity Brannon (Andrew) of Grafton, David Thompson, Jr. of Grafton, Troy Thompson of Oregon, Steven “Stevie” Thompson (Hannah) of Bridgeport, Hunter Thompson (Abigail) of Clarksburg and Hannah Collins of Clarksburg; 13 great grandchildren, Jessika Thompson, Taylah Thompson, Keri May Brannon, Aleecia Thompson, Jayceon “Bubby” Thompson, Aiden Thompson, Aubreiona Brannon, Cassandra (Cassie) Thompson, Kinslee Thompson, Wyatt Eve, Ansley Eve, Riggins Thompson and Andie Kate Thompson; special nephews, Robert Thompson, Jr. of Virginia, Neil Armstrong of Pennsylvania and Nathan Armstrong of Pennsylvania; and several additional nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Steve Thompson, one brother, Leo Armstrong; and one nephew, Kevin Thompson. Susie previously worked as a Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital.
