Gary Lynn Wiant

Gary Lynn Wiant, 73, of Stonewood, WV, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026 at the River Oaks Nursing Facility.

He was born in Clarksburg on May 6, 1953, a son of the late John and Willa Jean Goodwin Wiant.

Gary is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cynthia Pinion Wiant, who resides at their home in Stonewood.

Also surviving Gary are one daughter, Jennifer Morris of Morgantown; two sons, Shannon Wiant (Missy) of Shinnston and John Christopher Wiant (Paubla) of Virginia; three grandchildren, Brandon Elliott, Caleb Strakle, and Madeline Shaffer; one brother, Terry Wiant (Helen); four sisters, Eva Shriver (Steve), Cindy Clark, Penny Lipscomb (Greg), Mia Shriver (Tim); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary was a 1973 graduate of South Harrison High School. Following high school, he served in the Air Force and later retired as a clerk for the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation services will take place for Mr. Wiant.
