Christie Jean Gaines Rogers

Christie Jean Gaines Rogers, 49, of Lumberport passed away unexpectedly on Friday August 21, 2026.

She was born on August 18, 1977, a daughter of the late Marvin L. Gaines and his wife Janice and Marilyn J. Gaines.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Rogers, whom she married on October 23, 2004.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Caleb Rogers who resides at home in Lumberport, and Nikolaus Rogers and his fiancé Anne Johnson of Bridgeport; one grandson, Landon Leaseburge; two siblings, Cheryl Gaines of Lost Creek and Lee Gaines of Beak Fork, Gilmer County; her mother-in-law, Linda Rogers of Lumberport; her brother-in-law, Scott Rogers and his wife Starr of Ohio; her sister-in-law, Barbara Cross and her husband Chris of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Christie was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Luther Rogers.

Christie was a graduate of South Harrison High school and Fairmont State College. After obtaining her Associate degree in Accounting from Fairmont State College, she went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and was currently the payroll and accounting administrator for Lane Pipeline Construction. Christie was a devoted wife and mother. She was an avid WVU and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and enjoyed crocheting and riding side by sides. Most of all, Christie cherished her family and friends and loved spending quality time with them.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:00 am

In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will be held following the service.
