Helen Louise Robertson, 91, of West Milford, WV, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Sherri Sellers Nursing Home.
She was born in Highland Dam, WV, on May 3, 1935, a daughter of the late Moses Jefferson Sidebottom and Hazel Marcus Helmick Sidebottom Fleming.
She married James C. Robertson on September 12, 1953. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2013.
Mrs. Robertson is survived by her two children, Greg Robertson of Kincheloe, WV and Carol Morrison and husband Robbie of West Milford, WV; four grandchildren, Melissa Overfelt (Ryan), Tim Morrison (Sarah), Cody Robertson (Ashley), Alan Morrison (Amy); six great grandchildren, Kiera Overfelt, Abygail Morrison, Elijah Morrison, Eden Morrison, Kylie Morrison, Carter Robertson and several nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; June Richards, Sue Baldwin, Mary Allen and one brother, Jeff Sidebottom. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Helen graduated from Unidis High School in 1953. She retired as Administrative Assistant with eight years of service at Dr. Paul Gordon’s Medical Practice and had previously worked with Dr. Sam Harrison. She grew up in the West Milford Baptist Church, later she joined and served in the Bible Baptist Fellowship, where her son-in-law was Pastor. She later joined Bible Baptist Temple in Stonewood. Helen was very active in her love and service to our Lord. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years. She also worked and served in Bible School. She sang in choir and provided special music. Helen filled in any blanks in the church, wherever she was needed. Her joyful countenance was always a blessing to many. Her last encouragement was sending cards to others. She collected owls for over fifty years, arranging flowers, ceramics and embroidery work.
Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street Nutter Fort, on Friday, from 2:00pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00am with Pastor Charles Madaus and Dr. Robbie Morrison presiding. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
