Loretta Rae Ross, 91, of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, February
24, 2016 at Fairmont Health and Rehab Center following an extended
illness.
She was born in Clarksburg, WV on July 7, 1924 a daughter of the late
Charles Craig Morrison and Lizzie Del Rae Poynter Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest S. Groover in
1963 and her second husband Lewis C. Ross.
She is survived by one son, John Groover and wife Jacqueline of
Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters, Mary R. Simms and husband Norman of
Buckhannon, WV and Beverly Ross Baker of Xenia, OH; nephew and wife,
Clifford and Debbie Jones of Stanley, NC; niece and husband, Frances
and Donald Orndorff of Lady Lake, FL; seven grandchildren and 15 great
grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one
brother, John H. Morrison, one sister, Mary Schmitz, one daughter, Ann
Ross and one grandchild.
Loretta was a 1942 graduate of Victory High School and a homemaker.
She was a founding member of the Freedom Baptist Church and was active
in the church for many years.
