Octavisa “Mila” Robles Swiger, age 84, of Hepzibah WV went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina while traveling to Florida. She was born on October 26, 1939 in Las Lajas, Republic of Panama, the eldest daughter of the late Rosa Robles and Vincenta Pineda of Panama. On September 26, 1956 she married Harold R. Swiger Sr., who preceded her in death. Surviving her is son, H. Ross Swiger Jr. and his wife Carol of Florida, her daughter, Margaret Bond and husband Brian of New Hampshire, four grandchildren: Ashlie McKay (CA), Thomas R. Swiger (Clarksburg), Harold W. Parkhurst IV (AZ), Krista Pina (FL) and also six great grandchildren: Hannella, Judah, and Micah McKay; Cayden, Aria, and Landon Pina. She is also survived by one sister, Olga and one brother, Leto of Panama. She was preceded in death by one sister, Auda and two brothers, Olympo and Chacong all of Panama. She was a homemaker and devoted mother during her husband’s 21 years with the US Army. Settling in Hepzibah after his military retirement, she provided many years of childcare to two local children. She was also involved as a volunteer with the Clarksburg Mission. She was a Sunday school teacher at Faith Fellowship and Centerbranch Church. She loved gardening and grew various vegetables in her backyard and many varieties of beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed canning and baking. She will be remembered mostly for her faithfulness and love for God. She was such a Christian role model for all who knew her and was a blessing to everyone who had her in their lives.
