Richard A. “Rick” Blaniar, 65, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 in the United Hospital Center following an extended illness. He was born in Clarksburg on November 19, 1951, a son of the late Frank and Ethel Ayers Blaniar.
He was married to Nancy Dillon Blaniar, who preceded him in death. Surviving are one son, Richard “Jason” Blaniar and his wife Shelly of Fairmont; two daughters, Amanda Jo Paugh and her husband Brad of Mt. Clare, and Amy Lynn Eastman and her husband Rick of Clarksburg; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Lapoe and her husband Allen of Cleveland, OH, Debbie Hood of Lumberport; three brothers, Vint Ayers of Lumberport; Mike Blaniar of Lumberport and Roger Blaniar of Shinnston; and his partner, Emma Emilio, whom he loved dearly. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Blaniar; and three sisters, Janet Dawson, Paulette Audia and Mary Ellen Merritt.
Mr. Blaniar was a Carpenter by trade, a member of Clarksburg Aerie No. 2353 Fraternal Order of Eagles for 15 years and was also a member of Clarksburg Lodge #52 Loyal Order of Moose.
