Burial Date: April 2, 2016 In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Jones will be cremated. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday, April 2, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00pm where a memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm , with Reverend George Mesto and Reverend David Masto officiating. Inurnment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. |

David L. Jones, Jr. , recently of the Quiet Dell Community, departed this world on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the age of 90 following an extended illness. He was born in Big Isaac, WV on October 27, 1925, a son of the late David L. and Olive U. Carder Jones, Sr. Mr. Jones attended Roosevelt Wilson High School and was a graduate of WV Business College. He was a United States Navy Veteran, having served during WWII from 1943 to 1945. On November 28th, 1946 he married the love of his life, Dorothy (Dot) Masto, who preceded him in death on December 15, 2001. For most of his working life, he was employed by Pure Oil Company and its successor, Union Oil Company, where he served as plant and terminal manager, having retired in 1985. Surviving are his two children, David L. Jones, III and his wife Susan of Petersburg, and Debra (Jones) Casto and her husband Steve of Quiet Dell; five grandchildren, Kelley C. Jones and his wife Jessica, Meredith Adkins and her husband James, Matthew Jones and his wife Stacey, Marijke Smith and her husband Sean, and Christopher Casto and his wife Carol; nine great grandchildren, Jillan Rapp, Hayden Jones, Joshua, Luke and Andrew Adkins, Maddox, McKenna and Mila Jones, and Ciaran Smith; and two sisters, Georgia Frye and June Ferree, both of Clarksburg. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, William Jones, Everett Jones, Bernice Shook, Garnet Herzog, Orie M. Jones and Harold Jones. David loved fishing, camping and traveling with his wife. In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Jones will be cremated. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday, April 2, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00pm where a memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm , with Reverend George Mesto and Reverend David Masto officiating.
