April 13, 1939 - December 14, 2017 Burial Date: December 17, 2017 Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Sunday, December 17, 2017, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. The service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Settles presiding.

Bonita Lynn Shumate, 78, of Nutter Fort, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at her son’s home in Nutter Fort, following an extended illness.
She was born in Glennville, WV, on April 3, 1939, a daughter of the late Garrett and Madge Wilson.
Bonita was preceded in death by her husband, Larry A. Shumate.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Shumate of Clarksburg, William Shumate of Nutter Fort; three grandchildren, Hunter Lee Shumate Pattrick Shumate and Sierra Shumate; two sisters, Lana Robey of Nutter Fort and Ronelda Wilson of Bridgeport; several nieces and nephews two of whom are Mike Robey and wife Michelle and Scott Roby and wife Michelle.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Elaine Shumate.
Bonita was a retired Instructor with the Industrial Home for Youth in Salem, and a member of Vincent Memorial United Methodist Church.
