Carol Ann Johnson, 72, of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. She was born in Zanesville, OH on June 14, 1945, a daughter of the late Richard Gerald Johnson and Elizabeth Eunice Hutcheson Johnson Rice.
She is survived by one sister, Anita Sue Johnson Bower of Clarksburg; two nieces, Melinda M. Puth and her husband Jason of Rochester, NY, and Deborah K. Kelly and her husband Steve of Mars, PA; one aunt, Jean Davisson od Des Moines, IA; and one uncle, Homer Hutcheson and his wife Betty of Marsfield, OH.
She is also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Earl Johnson; and more recently, her aunt Marjorie Hutcheson.
Carol Ann was a graduate of Lexington High School in Lexington Ohio and the Mansfield Business College. She worked at the Galion Community Hospital with 4 ½ years of service, before working at the Franklin County Welfare Department as a file clerk for 32 years. Carol was a 40 year resident of Columbus, Ohio, having moved to Clarksburg to be close to her sister due to health problems.
Carol Ann utilized public transportation extensively and was a great supporter and advocate of public transportation. She was active in many charities, such as the Red Cross and local thrift stores.
In keeping with her wishes, Carol will be cremated. A private interment will be held at a later date in the Guernsey County Memorial Gardens on Cambridge, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Duff Street United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
