Angela “Angie” Oliverio Shabosky, of Clarksburg, WV passed peacefully on March 26, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born on October 28, 1934, Angie was the daughter of the late Frank A. Oliverio and Antoinette Lepera Oliverio. She earned her degree in English from Fairmont State and taught at Roosevelt Wilson High School for just one year. She then worked at Hazel Atlas Glass before moving to the Washington, D.C. area, where she began a 30-year career with General Motors Insurance as an Insurance Underwriter. After retiring and returning home to Clarksburg, Angie found great joy working alongside her sister Frances at the family store, Oliverio’s Cash and Carry.
Angie had a remarkable gift for making people feel special. She expressed her love through cooking and delighted in bringing people together, her presence always filling the room with warmth and laughter. Anyone fortunate enough to receive a tin of her famous cookies will never forget them.
Her life was deeply rooted in faith and family. Angie was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg, where she served for many years as a CCD teacher, living her faith with grace, humility, and quiet devotion.
Angie is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Anne Caruso of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and Mary Catherine Johnson of Plymouth, Michigan; her brothers, Frank A. Oliverio (Carol) of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and John Oliverio of Bridgeport, West Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Rose Oliverio, Mary Romano, and Frances Phares, and her brothers Joseph Oliverio and Salvatore “Sam” Oliverio.
Angie gave her love freely and fully, and because of that, her absence will be deeply felt. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
