I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Johns passing. .John and I met and became good friends many years ago, when he first started writing sports articles for the paper in the mid 80’s. John loved sports and the young athletes and gave them such good recognition with his fine sports articles. John was loved and respected by all, such a fine man. Thoughts and prayers are with Johns family during this most difficult period. Hugh Gainer, BHS, retired counselor and coach.

My condolences to the family. John was a client of mine and worked with me for many years. He was a good business partner and was easy to work with.

To the Miller family. My condolences and positive thoughts in what, I'm sure, is a very difficult time. Everything I've heard about John from my great friend Greg Talkington and from my family was so positive and caring. Whenever I'd go back to Clarksburg I'd read anything and everything he wrote. A great talent. Bob and Annica from the time we spent together in and out of 4-H and beyond, if your brother was anything like you two then he was, for sure, an exceptional person. Thoughts and positive energy to you both. //Tom

As many have written and said, we lost a state treasure when John was called home. Simply stated, John was a good man. His thirst for professional journalism, love of his community, boundless energy and willingness to always do the right thing set him apart from others. God speed, buddy.
