Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. Mr. Paugh will be taken to the Christian Assembly Church, 316 Buckhannon Pike, Clarksburg WV to lie in state for one hour prior to the service which will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11:00 am with Pastor Fred Aves and Pastor Mike Player officiating. Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.

James Charles “Chuck” Paugh, 78, of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Clarksburg on December 9, 1946, a son of the late James Lee “Jimmy” Paugh and Ruth Frye Keller.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay McDonald Paugh, whom he married on December 30, 1969.
Also surviving are one daughter, Marissa Ann Kiddy of Key West, FL; two grandsons, James Paugh-Navaretta and Cameron Patrick Kiddy; one brother, William “Billy” Keller of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one son, James Claude Paugh; one sister, Barbara (Vince) Patton; one brother, Jerry W. Paugh and his wife Roberta; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Claude and Maxine McDonald.
Mr. Paugh was a graduate of Salem College and was a United States Army and Army National Guard veteran. He was a former investigator with the WV DOH with 12 years of service retiring in 2007, was previously a loss prevention director for Heck’s Department Store East Coast with 23 years of service and was a former Harrison County Deputy. He was co-owner with his wife, Mary Kay of the Steak Escape Restaurant from 1994 until 2005 at the Meadowbrook Mall.
Chuck was a member of the Christian Assembly Church and was formerly a youth leader for 12 years at the Broad Oaks United Methodist Church, where he also served on the board of directors and was past president.
Chuck loved sports and politics. His heart was always with the community youth and stopping drugs in Harrison County.
