Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In keeping with his wishes, Mike will be cremated following the visitation.

James Michael “Mike” Hawkinberry, 73, of Bridgeport passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 in the United Hospital Center.

He was born in Newport, RI on April 10, 1952, a son of the late William Bernard and Geraldine Fay Heavner Hawkinberry.

He is survived by his wife Debi Seckman Hawkinberry, whom he married on January 29, 1983.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son, Eric Bartlett and his wife Heather of Wilsonburg; two grandchildren, Allyson Bartlett and Cody Bartlett; one brother, William Troy Hawkinberry and his companion Patty of Bridgeport; two sisters, Phyllis Childers and her husband Dave of Bolivia, NC and Cynthia Tanzey and her husband Jack of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his goldendoodle and best friend “Cooper”.

Mike was a graduate of Victory High School and was a retired sales representative with Harry Green Chevrolet with over 10 years of service. He was a member of the Clarksburg Country Club and enjoyed trout fishing and hunting as well as cooking and canning, especially his hot peppers. Mike was Baptist by faith.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

In keeping with his wishes, Mike will be cremated following the visitation.
