Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday, July 28th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8092 Third Street, Stonewood, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Kumar Reddimasu as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.

Lena Jerome Medina, 96, formerly of Spelter, passed away on July 24, 2025, at Bridgeport Health Care.
She was born in Wilsonburg, WV, on October 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Dominick and Mary Discuillo Jerome.
She was married to Jesse Medina on May 13, 1951, who preceded her in death on April 3, 2020.
Surviving are one son, James Medina and his wife Evelyn of Shinnston; one daughter, Linda Marie Derosa of Bridgeport; six grandchildren, Jessica Medina and her companion Shane McEldowney, Angela Haught, Teresa Harkins, James Medina II and his wife Lyndsey, Michael Derosa and his wife Jaimie, and Marcus Derosa; eight great grandchildren, Ana Haught, Ali Haught, Brogan Medina, Sophee Medina, Logan Harkins, Katie Derosa, Dominick Derosa, and Maggie Grace McEldowney; and one sister, Angie Smith of Wilsonburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers Tony, Dominic, Fred, John, and James Jerome, and two sisters, Ann Thomas and Sue Beverina.
Mrs. Medina was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was a member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church, Spelter Senior Citizens and St. Ann’s Alter Society. Above all, Lena loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought her so much joy.
The family extends a special thank you to Bridgeport Health Care nurses, staff, and activity director for the excellent care given to Lena.
