Martha Jane Nuzum Donnellan, 81, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026.
She born in Sutton, WV on December 10, 1944, a daughter of the late Haymond Walter “Ikey” and Mary Estelle Fox Nuzum.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jane “Debbie” Donnellan and partner Steve Richards of Clarksburg; one sister, Mary Lynn Shamblin and husband Ron; one sister-in-law, Suzy Nuzum; three nieces, Robin Nuzum, Ella Benton, and Beth Hancock; one nephew, John Shamblin; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Edward “Joe” Donnellan; her brother, Robert Lee Nuzum; one sister, Rebecca Ann Sears.
Martha graduated as valedictorian from Sutton High School and from Marshall University. She was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and was chosen Model Chapter Member by the pledges.
She retired from the Harrison County Board of Education with 34 years of service as the county office secretary in food service. She attended Duff Street United Methodist Church.
Martha loved playing bridge and other card games, especially with her three friends, Ruth Lover, Shirley Murphy, and Mary Shaffer.
Martha was a loving mother, loyal friend and trusted confidant. She lived life to the fullest, always true to her own spirit. She was lighthearted, genuine and outspoken. You always knew exactly where you stood with her and what she thought. She gave selflessly to others, always putting love into action.
In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Donnellan will be cremated.
A graveside service in the Sutton Town Hill Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
