Shirley Lee Loar, a devoted wife and mother, peacefully passed away on July 5, 2025 at her home. She was 86 years old.

Born on September 3, 1938, in Wallace, West Virginia, Shirley was the daughter of Gordon and Delma Ashcraft. For 68 years, Shirley shared a life of strong values with her beloved husband, Reverend James Loar.

Together, they created a home that was a haven of guidance and comfort for their family and all.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Reverend James Loar, and their children: James G. Loar and his wife Beverly; Keith Loar and his wife Sandy; and Terry Garrett and her husband Howard. She also leaves behind multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Mary F. Weeks.

Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Ashcraft, her grandson, Seneca Garrett, and her great-grandson, Ian Justus.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Amedisys Hospice and Connie Swiger for their loving care and support during this time.
